I agree with you about leaving comments. It is hard to leave meaningful insight to people who are unknown to us. It would many be helpful if everyone who is participating in this class would maybe at least know first names and occupations!

You're right - you do need to think up front about the tags you'll use and then be consistent.

I have a Facebook account but I found that I was spending waaaay too much time just reading what everyone else was saying and it was pretty meaningless so I quit. I do belong to some professional communities that are worth my time though.

As far as attaching videos, it would depend on the file type. You would save it on your computer and then embed it like you did for the photos.
Have you seen the customized headers that some of the teachers here have created? DStolzman's blog and KFuller's?? They've put photos in their headers of their students.

The internet4classrooms site is a fantastic one for classroom teachers. I hope you share that with the others in your building.

Whenever I look at the KinderKids blog, I am amazed at the technology that this teacher not only uses with the students, but also uses to communicate with the parents. I would have loved to have had a child in that classroom so that I could support the activities at home.

According to what I recently read on Facebook small print, you're supposed to be 13 to have a Facebook page. If the powers at Facebook discover someone underage with an account, they will disable it. As far as your young family members, they must be lying about their ages in order to have an account. Is that really a lesson we want to teach our kids to get them on a social networking site? I agree with you.

I am going to try and do better keeping my blog updated at school, it is linked to my homepage but is not very current. In future "things" we worked on using Picnik to edit photos so I think some new photos on my blog should be done!
