About Madame Burley
The 2009-10 school year is upon us, and I am fired up about beginning my 19th year of teaching and my 14th year at Reeths-Puffer!
But I have been at Reeths-Puffer longer than that. I graduated from R-P in 1987, and then went to Michigan State University for 4 years…GO GREEN! GO WHITE!
While at MSU, I completed a summer of overseas study in Tours, France, which is about 1 hour south of Paris by high-speed train. I lived with a French family, and attended school at the Institut de Touraine.
After graduation I taught first at Onekama High School near Manistee, and then at North Muskegon High School. However, I found that I was allergic to the school colors (both blue and gold), so I found myself back at Reeths-Puffer where I having been wearing Green and White with pride ever since!
I have been married to my wonderful husband for 17 years, and we have 2 greyhounds, Bandit and Rita. Here are my dogs in their natural habitat:
This past summer a group from Reeths-Puffer took a trip to Paris, Provence and the French Riviera. The kids had a great time! Here are some R-P students from our group in front of the Sacré-Coeur at the top of Montmartre in Paris.
