  • Diario: We read the Halloween story and translated it aloud.  Then, we underlined plural verbs like “Ellos miran”. 
  • We discussed what these verbs mean and where the posters are that show them.
  • We practiced the question song and groups came up with gestures to go with the song. 
  • We sang the song and all groups showed their gestures at the same time. 
  • We began filling out the notes for the family vocabulary and made a “rectangle” for the words for MY:  mi, mis.

  • We read articles about “Día de los Muertos” and did the reciprocal teaching activity.
  • We had time to work on drawings and get help with sentences.
  • Final draft of the coloring book is due any time between now and next week Wed., but if class time is given, it must be used, or the deadline will be moved up.

    • Diario: ¿Cuál es la fecha de tu cumpleaños? 
    • Formamos una línea en orden de la fecha de los cumpleaños. 
    • Explicación del “Libro de Colorear por los Números”.
    • We had time to work on the project. 
    • Tarea: Escribe 10 frases para el proyecto para mañana.  (10 sentences for tomorrow.)
    • Prueba de Vocabulario mañana…todo el vocabulario del capítulo (all of the vocabulary!).

    • Diario:  Translations
    • We read the story from yesterday and translated it aloud. 
    • Pop-up grammar:  come vs. comen, quiero vs. quiere
    • Processed the new posters and verb endings posters.
    • We played “la Guerra” to practice numbers.

    • We finished the Common Assessment.
    • We listened to Mini-Cuento #4 (El mono y el cacahuate)  (Formerly MC #2)
    • Students tallied the number of times that the phrases were used or they wrote the story in Spanish or in English.
    • Tarea:  Finish the Calendar and Numbers practice by Thurs. (Choose to do the odds, evens or all of them if you need more practice.)

    • Diario: Free Reading  (15 minutes)
    • Cuento #3 (Shrek e Ingrid).  Sra. B. told the story, then we read it.
    • We filled in the blanks on a version of the story as a class.
    • In small groups, students did a different fill in the blank version of the story and then checked it with the original.
    • TAREA:  Formal vs. Informal.
