  • Diario:  Hand in “Libro de Colores” and Organize notes. 
  • Brief introduction to telling time.
  • 4 corners practice with seasons, months, birthdays and weather.
  • Tarea:  Read Mini-Lectura 1A  (and do the T/F). 
  • Puzzle, #20-100 due Wednesday.  (We had time to work on this and began assessments for spelling names and colors.)

    • Test over the 1st unit…Reading Comprehension. 
    • Free-reading.
    • Color-By-Number Book due on Monday, Nov. 16.  It is a test grade. worth 50 points.  It will be a full grade lower for every day late.

    • We corrected the Tarea and answered questions about it in preparation for the test. 
    • New vocab. put on the list: ve -see, sees, llora- cry, cries, el lobo- the wolf, come-eat, eats 
    • PQA about mira vs. ve and weather.  Sra. Burley purposely asked questions that people didn’t know the answers to in order to practice saying “I don’t know”, “I don’t understand” and “What does that mean?”. 
    • We did the listening activity for the song “De Colores”.  
    • Test tomorrow:  Read the story and answer the questions.

    • Compare and repair homework. 
    • We practiced the “I am Yo” song.
    • Added to Vocab. List and practiced: ¿Qué quiere decir…?  (What does …mean?) ¿Qué significa…?  (What does that mean?) ¿Cómo se dice… ? (How do you say…?) No entiendo. (I don’t understand.) ¿Cómo se escribe… ?  (How is that written/spelled?) Yo no sé. (I don’t know.)
    • We practiced what to do if we don’t understand the teacher.
    • Song: “Suavemente”

    • Diario: The final Color by Number book is due any time between now and next Monday, Nov. 16.  Budget your time and get it done well.  If you have had trouble with your sentences, please come in outside of class and get help. 
    • “I am Yo” song (and look at the table on the back)
    • We wrote a story together with the Distributed Practice words and family members.
    • PQA of está enojado (is angry), está triste (is sad), está feliz (is happy). 
    • Vocab. Quiz retake
    • Reading 2.5 and Reading 5 (TPR Unit)…practice with answering questions.  
    • Test like this on Thursday…Reading Comprehension…translate a story and answer questions about it in Spanish. Get help before then if you need it.

    • Diario: We read the Halloween story and translated it aloud.  Then, we underlined plural verbs like “Ellos miran”. 
    • We discussed what these verbs mean and where the posters are that show them.
    • We practiced the question song and groups came up with gestures to go with the song. 
    • We sang the song and all groups showed their gestures at the same time. 
    • We began filling out the notes for the family vocabulary and made a masculine/feminine, singular/plural “rectángulo” for the 2 words for MY:  mi, mis.
