Hi all. Well, sorry guys, but Nella decided to come a little early, so I won’t be able to finish the quarter with you. I will still be sure everything you need is taken care of. Feel free to send me emails if you have questions and I will get everything done as soon as I possibly can. Just wanted to share my bundle with all of you. Be good for Mrs. Zuvers and Mr. Olson and anyone else who may be in our classroom with you.
Look on the blogroll for updated photos of Antonella Elizabeth…
In case you need a little more guidance and are having some trouble accessing sites, please see the attachment. I did not go through much of the information for each site, but think they may be helpful.
We are now onto a new semester! How exciting! Please remember that we need to work diligently this quarter especially, since I will be off on maternity leave starting fourth quarter. I will post all necessary information as usual and please feel free to let me know if there are other things you’d like added to our blog.
Hi everyone! I just wanted to welcome you all back to school and to 2009! This is going to be great!
Since we don’t have a lot of time when we return to school after the break, and some of you will be remaining on vacation, I have copied our paper and project guidelines here for you. Deadlines are also posted within the projects. I will be checking my email over break, so feel free to let me know if you have questions or concerns.
After the holiday break, English I students will be creating their own Odyssey projects in PhotoStory 3. Each student will need a minimum of 10 photos to include that span from childhood to present. I have attached the assignment sheet as well. I will spend the first couple of days after break going over how to do this project. Students will then have time in the computer lab to put their stories together.
Students in my English I class are currently working on a formal outline for their Hero Essay. We spent some time on Friday working on what a formal outline looks like. I have included our example here in case any student would like access.
Now we are working on writing the paper. I have taken my outline and turned it into my paper. I have included an example of this as well.
All of WayPoint Academy 8th and 9th graders will be given the opportunity to visit and tour the Holocaust Memorial Center in Farmington Hills, MI and meet a Holocaust survivor. 8th grade students with Mrs. Ohlendorf and 9th grade students taking English I with Mrs. Cantu received the Field Trip Permission Slip along with a Contract for Attendance, Behavior, and Attendance on Monday, December 1. These forms must be returned to Mrs. Cantu or Mrs. Ohlendorf NO LATER THAN DECEMBER 19, 2008. We are fundraising for this trip through the Enjoy the City coupon booklet. All students at WayPoint have been given the opportunity to help sell. If you have any further questions, please contact the office.
Be sure to come back to the site often to check out the blogroll. I continually update photos taken in our class. I also try to write captions so that everyone can understand what we’ve been doing.
