Hello Parents and Students!
My name is Chris Tulgestke and I will be your teacher for sixth grade Language Arts and Social Studies, as well as seventh grade Social Studies. This is my sixth year teaching at Waypoint Academy. I absolutely love it. Eleven and twelve year olds are at such a fun age to teach.
My husband Chuck and I have been married for 24 years. We live in Grand Haven. Chuck is a Construction Superintendent. We have a 21 year old son Nick, who just moved out on his own this summer. He attends Muskegon Community College and works full-time at Bekins Automotive. If you need any car repairs, send them his way! We also have a 19 year old daughter Lauren, who is in her sophomore year at Grand Valley State University. She is studying to be a special education teacher. She works at Great Harvest Bread Company a couple days a week, as well as Shoreline Soccer complex. So those of you playing soccer in the winter, be sure to look up Lauren. We also have a sweet 13 year old chocolate Lab, and two 12 year old cats, who are brothers and tend to play with each other as much as they fight!
In my free time, I enjoy curling up in a warm blanket getting lost in a good book. I also enjoy bike riding, cross country skiing, and spending lots of time at the beach in the summer.
I am looking forward to a great year with everyone. It promises to be busy and fast paced, and it will undoubtedly go by very quickly!
