Here is a list of books that I would highly recommend:
Mindset – Carol Dweck
The book shares research and information about how we can have either a growth or fixed mindset. This influences how we react to experiences and situations. I would highly recommend this for staff or parents.
No: Why Kids of All Ages Need to Hear It and Ways Parents Can Say It
No. It’s not just a one-word answer, it’s a parenting strategy. Other books broach the topics of tough love and discipline, but only No offers the lively voice, warm wisdom, science made simple, and breadth of knowledge that readers have come to expect from Dr. Walsh. The first look at the psychological importance of “no” in a child’s development, No is filled with down-to-earth advice that you can put into practice immediately.
We will be having a book study this year at Twin Lake. Watch for more information soon!
The Wonder of Boys – Michael Gurian
