eDive entries

eDive is making me lazy. Many schools are inputting or importing entries before the meet. Consequently, there are no diving sheets beforehand. I’ve been handling it like this:

  1. I ask to see the “all green” status during warmups.
  2. Since I haven’t signed them, I created labels with my name and MHSAA ID# to stick on after the meet.

Some concerns

  • How to handle inputting errors? If the home team is entering names and dives for the visiting team, then I would consider wrong entries a clerical error and allow the diver to make a change if it is correct on the diving sheet.
  • How to handle importing errors? If the visiting team provides the home team an eDive formatted files that is incorrect, that would be the fault of the diver just as if they had written down the wrong dive. The eDive import should be verified as accurate by the coach or diver.

How are you handling it? What are you thinking?

One Response to “eDive entries”

  1. Officials really don’t have any defined responsibilities in terms of checking the diving sheets (it’s a courtesy). The diver needs to do the dive that is on the sheet or request a change prior to the dive being performed. The submitted (to the table) diving sheet rules all – whatever is on the sheet (should be in ink) determines what is to be done unless a change is requested.
