Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
If you have any questions concerning the take home quest, ask them here. Remember to give me until the end of the day to respond, just in case I am out Christmas shopping

oo christmas shopping? fun fun …..anyway when it asks on number 27 for the most energetic does that mean the highest frequency becuase it will occur most often?
Mr. Holt, I had some semi-minor questions, in question 53 on page 280, I wasn’t sure about the f orbital and which shell it can fit in, because it’s not in line with the s block on the periodic table, i didn’t know which shell it can be part of like how the p orbital can be in the second shell and the d orbital can start in the third shell…also, i didn’t know where l=5 can fit, so i didn’t know if it would be a valid electron configuration if it was l=5 in the 6th shell….thanks!
Audrey, the question is asking about the line that has the highest energy or highest frequency or shortest wavelength.
Aula, the f orbital begins in the 4th shell, after 6s. See figure 8.5 on page 295 for the order. As for values of l, look at page 272–top. It says that the values of l can be 0, 1, 2, 3…n-1. So, if n = 6, l can technically be 5, whatever that looks like
Merry Christmas Mr. Holt!!
I was wondering what we have to do for the gas laws take home quest…I’m in the process of moving into a new house so starting on the 1st, I wouldn’t have internet ’till the 8th of Jan. so I wouldnt be able to check the blog…so if you could post it before that date, it would be wonderful!! Thanks!
