#2–because I really care I would like to share the notes with all of you!

Here they are…Shared Notes from a Caring Guy

Now if you all really care, you will have something to share on Monday-like the answers to the blanks of all these notes.

 HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Here we go…the first semester Home Stretch!

We still need to finish our quest on stoichiometry. This will be an individual quest and will be held on Wednesday (1/7/09). We will review for the quest on Tuesday.

We will end the semester with some solution chemistry and review for the Mid Term Exam. DO NOT FORGET THAT THE MID TERM IS WORTH 20% OF YOUR FINAL GRADE.

A list of HW assignments are below and I will tell you in class the days they are due.

HW 1: Click here http://dbhs.wvusd.k12.ca.us/webdocs/Solutions/WS-Molarity.pdf and do all these problems.

HW 2: Click here http://www.chalkbored.com/lessons/chemistry-11/solubility-rules-chart.pdf and do all of these problems.

Also, click here if you want to look at some problems for review–I wonder if a problem like this might pop up on the quest? By the way the last 3 slides are for AP Chem–you don’t have to worry about them unless you are bored and want to try some extra fun.

2nd Hour Chemistry

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

We have 2 weeks left before we start reviewing for the Mid Term. Remember that the Mid Term Exam is worth 20%. This is a big grade and I will be giving you review question HW to keep you up to date on this cumulative exam. DON’T WAIT UNTIL THE LAST NIGHT TO REVIEW FOR THIS.

This week we will begin our next topic–stoichiometry. Stoichiometry is a process chemists use to determine the amount of products or reactants and made or needed during a chemical reaction. I will be posting assignments for you to do and turn in by Friday. You may ask questions about the problems throughout the week to help you solve the problems. Again waiting to the last minute will be counterproductive.

Here is a copy of the Powerpoint notes to help fill in any notes you missed in class…

Here is a list of assignments for you to turn in on Friday.

HW1: Click here http://dbhs.wvusd.k12.ca.us/webdocs/Stoichiometry/WS1-MoleRatio.pdf and do all the problems.

HW 2: Click here http://dbhs.wvusd.k12.ca.us/webdocs/Stoichiometry/WS3-Stoich(Mass-Mass).pdf and do problems 1-8 only.

In class we will be working in groups, pairs and solo to really get an understaqnding of what stoichiometry really is. We will also work on a lab in the next couple of weeks as well.

Get ready!

AP CHEMISTRY

All of the great students of Holt’s AP class…

As you might have guessed, there is not a Christmas Break assignment due when we get back to school. I hope you have been working on your colligative property problems. That way the review on Monday will be quite easy to recall.

The plan is to review CH 14 colligative propeties on Monday, then take the colligative property quest on Tuesday. Notes and problems for gas laws on Wed-Fri and gas law quest on Monday (1/12).

Review for the Midterm exam will be Tuesday – Friday (1/13-1/16). That will wrap up the first semester.

If you want to look at the review we did in class Tuesday (1/6) click on Stoich Review above in the Honors Chemistry section. Look at the last 3 slides.
