2nd HOUR WEEK 1 QUESTIONS
Question #1–What does the Bible state about our stewardship towards God’s Earth? Are we following God’s plan for our Earth?
Question #2–Explain the factors that affect the solubility rate of solids in a solvent (like water).

Well, In Genisis 1:28, God told man to be the stewards of the earth…and not the destroyers of it.
The first time I saw “The Inconvineint Truth”, I beileved in global Warming. The data was presented in a way that could make any teenage kid in a biology class accept it. Al Gore even shared the story about his son almost dying in order to gain the viewers sympathy.
However, After moving from teacher to teacher, and watching tv, I found out that as the Earth goes through certain cycles, it naturally gives of CO2 that we have nothing to do with, like from volcanoes. I also learned that there were also times in history when the Earth got significantly hotter.
In Revelation, it says that God will switch up the earth, and create certain disastors in the end times…that possibly could be the explination for it.
Althogh we can do a better job at recycling and controlling our litter, I don’t think that we are too bad off as a generation. In fact, every generation that came before us thought that they were the cause of all the problems of the world.

Answer to Question #1:
The Bible says in Genesis 1:28 “God blessed them, saying: ‘Be fertile and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it. Have dominion over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and all the living things that move on the earth.’”
The Bible tells us that we have been given, by God, power over the land and creatures of the earth, and that we should fill it. We tend to be taking away from it by cutting down trees to build malls or houses, and by not recycling paper which is made from trees.
Later on, in Genesis 2:15, the Bible reads “The Lord God then took the man and settled him in the garden of Eden, to cultivate and care for it.”
This verse of Genesis specifically tells us that God would like us to care for the earth.
In my opinion, the majority of us are not following God’s plan of caring for the earth. A large portion of us litter, you can see it everyday just driving to school; a large portion of us don’t recycle, just look in the garbage cans at our very school; and a large portion of us waste energy and electricity by, for example, leaving the computer on all day and night, or not turning off the lights when we leave a room.
In psalm 24:1 it says “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it” this is saying anything we do the earth can hurt are relationship with God. To this verse we are not following what God wants us to do since we pollute the earth and are destroying the ozone and lakes. so to me i believe we are not following what God wants us to do for the earth.
Question #1
First off, the definition of stewardship is the conducting, supervising, or managing of something; the careful and responsible management of something entrusted to one’s care.
In the bible verse of Leviticus 26:3-4, 6: “If you follow my decrees and are careful to obey my commands, I will send you rain in its season and the ground will yield its crops and the trees of the field their fruit… and I will grant peace in the land”.
That bible verse tells us that we need to show respect towards God and what he has given us in our lives and that if we follow God and obey his judgment that he has for us on earth, he will give us everything we need; which includes food and peace on earth.
I believe that some people are following God’s plan for our earth. I say that some people are because some are doing a better job then others. Such as, some people tend to throw garbage out on the streets and that is not how God wants his land he gave us to be treated. While on the other hand, some people volunteer there time and are helping out people who are less fortunate. Personally, I believe we are a good age group because the majority of us tend to throw garbage away and try to recycle on a daily bases.
Question 1.
Genesis 6:12 says “God looked on the earth, and behold; it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way upon the earth.” I believe that this means God cares about his creation and doesn’t want to see it go to waist. In this chapter he was talking mainly about violence, but why wouldn’t he feel the same way about pollution or anything else we could do to the earth.
Having said that and by what I believe, I don’t think we are hurting the earth. I have heard from many people, and I believe it my self, that our planet goes through a cycle. At our current moment we are peaking at a high in temperatures, but I believe that it will begin to come back down. For example, look at the ways our past winters have gone. Two or three years ago we had very minimal snow and warm winters but look at the way this winter has gone. Sub freezing temperatures and almost record snow falls already. You do the math!
Question #1
It’s in Genesis 1:28. It tells us we should take care all of Gods blessings. All living things that have been created. We need to be responsible for this earth. We have to take actions by protecting nature and animals.
No we are not following Gods plan because we do not take actions by helping our enviroment. The world today people are to lazy to pick up litter and recycle. We are destroying animals homes by cutting down the forest. The biggest thing that is happening the earth is going to collaspe by having global warming because we lack stewardship.
Question #1
In Genisis 1:28, God says to be the stewards of the earth…and not the destroyers of it. personally i think that we are fallowing the plan of the Lord because we are doing what we have to do to develop the world to a better place.
Question #2
its hard to say if global warming is real or not, but me personally, i don’t think that its that real. what i mean by that is that I am sure it’s real to some extent, where ya the ozone layer me be slowly being destroyed, but honestly the last time i looked outside it was pretty darn cold out there. so when asked if global warming is real or not i would have to be on the fence, its real, but not as bad as what everybody is making it out to be.
God created all that exists, this makes everything in the world Gods. “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it”(Ps. 24:1). This was said by King David in his prayer of Thanksgiving. We need to charish what God gave us not destroy it.
I don’t think that we are following God’s plan for our earth. I think this because we litter, do things to hurt the earth, ECT.
The Bible says that God but man here to “cultivate and care” for the Earth. I really don’t think that is happening. People are overdoing things these days. Too many trees being chopped down when they don’t need to be and such.
Jodee…
Just because trees are being choped down doesn’t mean that we aren’t taking care of our earth. Wouldn’t you say that God put trees on our earth for our use of paper, everything happens for a reason right?
hacker i would have to agree with you on the thing you told Jodee. Saying about cutting tree’s down that does not really mean we are not taking care of the earth, i think we are destorying it by garbage if anything
Cody & TJ
I am not sure, but I do not think that Jodee said that we should not cut down any trees. Indeed, using the resources that God has provided for us is a gift and we should be happy to use them.
But I read Jodee’s response as cutting down too many trees.
Is there a limit to how much we should cut down?
Analogy…Should we eat all of the food in our house by Tuesday if grocery shopping day isn’t until Saturday? Or next week?
Hmmmm….
my comment on ashlee’s comment, i have to agree with what she said, even thought like half of what she says has nothing to do with the question, but she had some ideas that were on the same lines as what i was saying. the only thing is that i think that we have a small part in the global warming, where she says that we have nothing to do with it. in the end she has the same ideas that i had but with just some minor differences
I agree with jen because i do believe that some people are not doin the best they can to recycle, but they are still trying too. I can see where you coming from when you are talking about not helping our environment and also by how we are destroying animal homes.
TJ
i agree with what you are saying about how we should take care of the earth instead of destroy it. The earth is God’s and everything that is on it is his also. We should never do anything to hurt it.
Instead, we should all recycle and do anything to make it a better place to live.
I agree with Caley Nolan. I do not think it’s a right thing to cut the trees down, to make malls and not recycling. Recycling needs to be the first step to make a healthier planet.
Ok I’m gonna go with Genisis 1:28. It says that we should be good stewards and take care of Earth but I don’t totally believe we are. throwing trash around and everything we are polluting it and God would NOT be very happy with us.
