Week 6 Questions–6th Hour
Question 1…Answer each part of this question to get credit. If you do not respond in detail to each part of the question you will recieve a zero for this week’s posting.
Can you believe that God exists and not end up living with God in Heaven? Why or why not?
Is belief in God’s existence enough to save you? Why or why not?
Can you think of someone who believes that God exists and is destined for Hell? Who? Why are they destined for Hell?
If you believe that God exists, are you destined for eternal life living with God?
Do you think that someone who uses Pascal’s Wager for the existence of God can truly live for God? Why or why not?
Science time…If someone believes that there are environmental issues–is that enough? Why or why not?
After you answer these questions, read James 2:14 – 26. Do not read this scripture first. Make sure you answer the questions above first and then read the scripture to see what God has to say about the matter and then…Write a response to these questions. Did your opinions change or are they all still the same? Why did your opinions change? Or why did they not change?
Question 2…Answer this question in a separate comment, please.
If 2.25g of argon gas is at 25C and 745mmHg, how much volume will it take up?

I think if you believe in God, you will make it to heaven no matter what. You may not go there right away and may have to spend a few years in purgatory, but you will get there no matter what. Jesus forgave tax collectors, prostitutes, and many other sinners. If he can forgive them, then He will one day forgive us.
As I said, the belief in God’s existence is enough to save us. God wants us to go to heaven, so I do not think that he would stop us from going if we really wanted to go. He is loving and would probably want more people to join him rather than send them away.
I think someone who uses Pascal’s Wager for the existence of God can still live for him. I think the wager is really signifying is how your outcome in life will be. Either way if you really do believe and you believe the wager is true, then no matter what you will have lived a virtuous life no matter if God exists or not. God is a mystery and the wager just adds on to it.
If someone believes that there are environmental issues I do not think it is enough. For example, if we have a perfect utopian world, and someone believes that there are environmental issues, it is not enough to prove there are. The perfect world has no problems, so just the opinion is not enough. For example, in todays world, it is logical to say we have environmental problems because there is proof of these problems. (ex. Onondaga Lake Pollution) In an imperfect world where there are visible signs of environmental problems, then the belief is enough.
My opinions mostly stayed the same, but they changed a little bit. I still feel that God will let us into heaven, but it is not all about our faith. We must show him through actions AND faith in order to get to heaven. Although, I still believe that God will always forgive us and will eventually let us into heaven.
My opinion changed because I did not take in account of all the people who say they believe, but do not do anything for other people.
No I believe you cannot believe God does not exist and still end up in Heaven. Yes, some people could be ignorant, but ignorance only gets you so far, and I think God will judge everyone accordingly and those who just flat out do not believe in Him will not get to live with him eternally. The whole point of life on earth is to live like Christ to get yourself to Heaven, if you do not know who Christ is you will not live like him and see no point to getting to Heaven.
Belief in God’s existence is not enough to save you. You must fully committ your life to Christ and not only believe in him but share it with others, be like aposltes and spread the word of Christ. You must live life the way Christ wants you to, so I believe just belief in Christ’s existence will not save you.
Yes, there are some people out there who are destined for Hell even though they do believe in God. I am not going to name names that would just be mean. Some people do not act as God would like them to by doing things God clearly says are wrong to do in the Bible. Those people may believe in God but they are not doing what God asks them to do.
No, just because you believe in God does not mean you are destined for Heaven. You must prove to God you’ve lived your life the way Jesus did. You must prove to God with day to day actions that you truly love him and do everything for the glory of God, not for yourself. I do not think only belief in God’s existence will save you.
No, I do not think that someone who follows Pascal’s wager can fully believe in God. It is not like they truly believe in God, they only believe in him because they see no harm from believing in him. They only believe in him because they think well I might as well, it is not going to hurt me. They only believe in God because they know that its really not going to hurt them.
If someone believes there are enviornmental issues, just believing in them is not enough. If they believe in them and know that something is wrong and that if we do not change how we treat the enviornment something very bad is going to happen they need to share their knowledge. If they believe they need to study and learn how to change what is going on. Just believing is not going to help. They need to try to change the way the world is to make it a better place. Believing in enviornmental issues is not going to change the way the world is, they need to make a difference.
My opinions do not change, these Bible verses just back up what I am trying to say. This scripture is telling us that just having faith is not good, you must act out your faith and live the way God wants you too. Just having faith will not save you in the end, those who have faith and show it with actions will have done what God really wants them to do.
It is possible to believe in God and not end up heaven. You can believe in God all you want, but unless you live a good life, you are not going to Heaven. It is not enough to just believe in God. You need to do much more than just believe, but believing is a good start. I think that Hitler believed in GOd and look at what he did. Hitler killed many people and tried to take over the world. He is probably not going to heaven just because he believed in God. Just because I believe in God, does not mean that I will go to heaven either. I need to live a good life and then I will get to heaven. If you want a chance to get to heaven, you do need to believe, but there is more to it. I think that if you believe in Pascal’s Wager, you still can go to heaven. If you live a good life, and believe in God, you will go to heaven. If you believe in Global Warming, you are not doing anything. You believe, but it is not actually doing anything. If you want to try to stop Global Warming, or any other kind of issue, you need to work for it, not just believe. James says the same thing. If you have faith, but no word, that is not good enough. You need both to get salvation. I think that it is common sense that you need both. You can believe all you want that God is real and heaven is real, but unless you do something about it, you are not getting in. It is like a movie you are going to see. You can believe all you want that the movie is in the theater and it is playing, but unless you pay for the ticket, you are not getting in to the movie.
If you believe God exists then there is a chance that you could end up not living with him in Heaven. It all depends on what you do here on Earth. For example, if you believe in God’s existence but not pursue a relationship with him or do bad things, then there is a great possibility you might not be with him. If you believe in God’s existence and know about Him and continue to make horrible mistakes without asking forgiveness then you may not end up with him. On the other hand, you could end up with Him because God forgives everyone who is wants to be with Him.
Belief in God’s existence is not enough to ensure a right to Heaven. It all depends on how you lived your life here on Earth. If you tried and pursued a relationship with God but made mistakes, you might end up in Purgatory for some time. However, if you believe in Him but do nothing about it and make horrible mistakes and knowing you are going against God’s will, that is not enough to save you completely. You have to live your life out here on Earth the best you can trying to please God to one day be saved by God. You have to put something in to get a reward.
Adolph Hitler believed in God and called Him the Almighty, master of all that is known and unknown. Hitler is destined for Hell because believed in God, but made horrible mistakes by trying to wipe away all the Jews. He murdered an unbelievable amount of people. He made grave mistakes, but still believed in God … He would be destined to Hell for his mistakes.
Going back to the first two questions, it all depends on how you lived your life here on Earth. I think you have a better chance if you believed in God that you would live eternal life with Him. If you believed in God, tried making a relationship with Him, and tried to live the best life you could trying to please God, then of course you could live eternal life with Him.
Whoever uses Pascal’s Wager to depict God’s existence would not truly live for God. I believe that that person would be living just trying to get by in life. Pascal’s Wager is too blunt and God is not blunt. God is as complex being and just saying yes or no because of where you would end up is not good enough. They wouldn’t truly be living their life for God.
If someone believes in environmental issues and does nothing about it, then that is not enough. I could say I believe in pollution and know it is wrong, but if I never tried to help make the world better, then I am not doing anything to help the cause. You have to put something into the issue to get something out. You need to realize the problem and help make the world a better place to really make your opinion matter.
After reading the passage from James, my opinions of the questions above didn’t change because my opinions go along with the passage. I said you have to do something to get something in return, and that is what the message in this passage is. As it says in James, “You see that a person is justified by what he does and not by faith alone.”
Very true, I think that if you beleive in God’s exsistance, that doesn not do enough to earn you your spot with him in heaven. Just beleiving is not enough, you also have to live it. A massacer could beleive in God, but without a change of heart, I don’t think that they will be able to earn their spot, because their worldly actions. I think you need to do more than beleive, you have to actually love and appreciate God to be saved and mean it. Well, I dont know anyone that is destined for hell compteley, and if anyone came to mind, I wouldn’t know their viewpoint on God. If I beleive that God exsists,I dont think that I have an automatic pass to heaven, I think I also need to do the work of Jesus and follow the Golden Rule. If someone uses Pascal’s Wager for God’s existence then I think that they are just using an excuse to get to heaven. I think that Pascal was making the point that we have a better chance to beleive in God for wrong reasons, such as IF there is a God, we have better chance than NOT believing. I do not think the simple belief of environmental issues is enough. I think it is kind of hypocrytical. If there are issues and you DO beleive in them, then you should take action and recycle or something. After reading James 2:14-26, my opinions are exactly the same. Everything I thought were right along the lines of what the book of James was telling us. These did not change. I agreed with the Bible before I read it!
You can believe that God does exist but not end up with God in heaven. If you believed in God and you were a bad person, then you would not go to heaven. Belief in God’s existence is not enough to save you. You have to be a good person and do good deeds to go to heaven. Satan believes in God, but he can’t go to heaven. Someone who uses Pascal’s wager can’t truly live for God. The only reason they would believe in God would be because they hope to gain something from it.
If someone believes that there are environmental issues, then that is not enough. They have to do something about it. If there is a problem, then they should try to solve it.
My response to the questions did not change after I read the Bible verse. It says that faith is nothing without works, so only believing in God won’t get you to heaven. You have to do good works.
1. yes, someone can believe in God and not end up living in heaven. This could happen if God didn’t exist or if the person was a terrible human being.
2. no, believing isn’t enough. You have to be a morally good person, meaning you have to work at being a better Christian. A major part of this is being closer to God. Anyway, you can believe in God but, still not do anything to be a better person. In fact, you could commit venial sins and still believe in God.
3. I don’t think anyone is destined for Hell. It’s never too late to have a conversion if you really mean it and are trying to better yourself.
4. no, once again it’s more about believing.
5. no, If your using Pascal’s Wager your using the belief in God as a saftety blanket to avoid damnation. You should follow God because you believe in God, thats the main reason.
5. no, if you believe there is a problem then you must take action. Belief alone is not going to save the environment.
After reading James 2:14-26 I’m not changing my postitions. The reading says that faith is dead without actions. I believe in the same concept in which the actions justify the faith. Believing in God or that there is a problem with the environment is not enough to achieve what you want. One has to take action as well.
1. #1
I believe that you can believe that God exists, but not be able to live with him in heaven. I think that it is definitely a plus to believe in God, but belief alone cannot save you from hell. I believe that you must also live out your faith by doing good deeds, praying, teaching others about God, etc.
I do not think that belief in God’s existence alone can save you. If you are a bad person, even though you believe in God, that should not mean that you can escape hell and live eternal life with God. If you could do this, there would be no point in being a good, faithful person. I think that the reason that God has heaven is so that good people can have a reward after living a faithful life on earth.
I cannot think of anyone, at the moment, who is alive now, but one person that does come to mind that died a while ago is Hitler. Most sources say that Hitler believed in God, but I’m absolutely positive that he is in Hell now because he was responsible for the deaths of thousands of people. Even though he believed in God, that does not make up for his hatred for the Jews and for all the people he killed in the most awful ways.

I do not think that it is enough just to believe that the environment has issues because that does not count. It is what people do about the issues that counts. If you are a person that believes in the issues, but you do not do anything to fix them, then you have no right to get mad at those who do nothing; you must live your belief in order to make it count.
My opinions have not changed because they were and are the same as in the Bible passage. Like in the passage, I said that faith does not matter if you do not live it and follow through with the deeds that go along with it. Without the actions, the faith is “dead”.
THIS IS THE ONE I AM TURNING IN; FORGET THE OTHER ONE; I FOUND A LOT OF TYPOS IN THE OTHER ONE.
Yes, even if you believe God exists, you could still not end up with Him in heaven. The reason could be one of two things. Lets say God doesn’t exist. Even if you believe He does it doesn’t change the fact that he is non-existent. Or, say for example He does truly exist, and you do believe that he exists. Although you believe in His existence, you don’t follow in His ways, commit a mortal sin, and don’t repent. Therefore, you do not receive eternal life with God, but instead, eternal damnation.
Belief in God alone is not enough to save you. Along with beliefs come actions. If you are going to talk the talk, you have to walk the walk.
In Literature class, we read a book called “The Crucible”. One of the main characters, John Proctor, committed adultery. Mind you, back in the olden days many had very strong and strict Puritan beliefs. John Proctor was a good man, except that one action changed his whole destiny. Because of their strict beliefs, everyone knew that no matter what you would go to Hell if you broke one of the Commandments. Although John Proctor was a good Christian man who believed in God, he was destined for Hell.
Like I said in my second paragraph, beliefs alone can not save you. Just because you believe in God, that does not mean that you have a reserved spot for you in heaven. For example, if you believe that you are going to do very awesome in your sports game and everyone else believes your team will too, it doesn’t mean that they already put a Win in the record book. You must first put up a good fight and play well to earn your win.
If someone believes in God just because of Pascal’s Wager, I don’t believe they are truly living for God. Don’t get me wrong, you can still think that Pascal’s Wager states good points, but that shouldn’t make the extent of your belief in God more or less. You should believe in God because you know it is the truth. For example, let’s say your mom asks you to do the laundry for her because she could really use the help. You say you don’t want to and so you don’t. So, your mom offers you an allowance. After you are given the offer, you accept, and you start doing the laundry. Now, doing the laundry for your mom is very kind, and she really appreciates it. But, are you doing the laundry out of the good of your heart to help your mom? Or, are you doing the laundry for the money? Many times people only do things that create positive results for them, and to them it doesn’t matter how they reach them. You do the laundry just so you can have the money. In the case of believing in God because of Pascal’s Wager, people will follow God just so they can have eternal life.
If someone believes that there are environmental issues, I believe that that is not enough. Firstly, if there really aren’t environmental issues, then there is nothing you can do or believe that will change that fact. Or, if there truly are environmental issues the belief alone in them is not enough because there could still be an action involved in this case. For example, to further your beliefs, you could research to find out more information. Therefore, your beliefs could grow stronger. It’s not enough to just say you believe in something without showing, having proof, a good argument/opinion with facts to back you up.
After reading James 2:14 – 26, my opinions did not change. I still believe in all that I said, and I especially like verse 26 that states, “As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.” That verse pretty much sums everything up.
Q1-
You can believe that God exists and not end up living with Him in Heaven. You have to live out your belief. Just because you say the words “I believe”, doesn’t mean God will be completely satisfied with you. We must follow His callings and take responsibly for any of our actions on our judgment day.
Belief in God’s existence is not enough to save you. Yes, it helps, but in truth we are told through God’s teachings that who we really are and what actions we make are what save us.
No, I cannot think of anyone who believes that God exists and is destined for Hell. I could never pick out anyone of this matter because I know that God is very forgiving and anyone has the capability to experience a change of heart. There are many bad people in the world, but it is between them and God in deciding if they are destined for Hell.
If you believe God exists, it really is not the only thing that shows you are destined for eternal life with God. You are certainly on the right track, but it really is important to show your faith to others and being committed to it in order to gain eternal happiness.
No, anyone that uses Pascal’s Wager for the existence of God can not truly live for God. If they use this, then they do not really understand what the Bible teaches. Pascal’s Wager pretty much encourages people to believe in what’s right by using reasoning to persuade the people.
It is a start, but not enough if someone believes there are environmental issues. If they believe, then they should find evidence to support their beliefs. If you want others to back you up in what you think is right, then there should be at least some proof.
My opinions stayed the same. They didn’t change because in the readings my point was made clear, as in faith requires works. “For just as a body without a spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.”
Question: 1
You can believe in God and still not go to heaven. If we follow Pascal’s wager from last week, if there is no God, then you will not go to heaven even if you believe in Him. However, people can still not get to heaven even if God is real and they believe in Him. This is because someone who lives a sinful and harmful life to others does not deserve to go to heaven regardless of their faith. In life, how you live is what determines your salvation.
Therefore, belief in God’s existence is not enough to save you. Just think, how can someone who believes in God and still murders and gives pain to others go to heaven? Belief in God and following his instructions for life is what gets you into heaven. However, the actions that you perform in life are actually more important than your beliefs. This is because someone who lives a righteous and peaceful life but still has conflicting beliefs in God can still go to heaven because they lived so well.
Adolf Hitler believed in God and he is most likely currently in Hell. Hitler led the Nazi Party during World War II and caused the genocides of millions of people (including about six million Jews). In this case, Hitler must have gone to Hell because he deliberately killed millions of people. How can this God-believer go to heaven?
If you believe in God, you are destined for eternal life with God. However, terrible acts and mistakes that you make along the way can disrupt your destiny with Him. So you personally make or break your eternal life with God.
Someone who uses Pascal’s Wager for the existence of God can truly live for God. Even if someone uses this Wager because they desire heaven, they can still live for God and heaven. If they live a morally-righteous life and serve and help others in life, they can reach heaven because they are being good human beings. This shows the importance of one’s actions over beliefs.
In the case of environmental issues, believing in these problems is not enough. What good is it to believe in the environment’s problems and do nothing about it? Someone who believes in these issues must try to help out and end the problems within the environment because that is the only effective way to help anything.
After reading James 2:14-16, my opinion has not changed. This passage only supported my claim of how faith without works is useless. This passage proves how showing love and living a righteous life is the only true way to show that you are a follower of Christ.
Question 1:
You can believe that God exists and not end up in Heaven, but I don’t think this happens very often. I believe that after you die, no one goes straight to Heaven or straight to Hell, everyone goes to Purgatory. I believe that if someone is a bad person on earth and is not sorry for the things they did, they will still get a chance to repent in Purgatory.
God’s existence is not enough to save you. Although God is merciful and loving, He only allows pure souls into Heaven. If someone is still not sorry for their wrongdoings in Purgatory, they may go to Hell. Just because someone believes in God does not mean they follow the path God wants them to.
I cannot think of anyone who is destined for Hell. Hitler may have been a bad person and he may have killed many people. I don’t think he was sorry about this either. However, once Hitler went to Purgatory he may have repented and gone to Heaven. Even bad people are not destined to go to Hell. Everyone gets a chance to live eternally with God.
I do believe in God, and I certainly hope that I am destined for Heaven. As of this point in my life, I haven’t committed any sins serious enough to damn me to Hell. However, I may do something of this matter in the future, although I hope not. Even if I do something bad, God will forgive me if I repent. I cannot imagine myself ever committing a sin and not being sorry for it. This is why I believe that I will go to Heaven.
I do not believe that someone who uses Pascal’s wager can truly live for God. If someone who believes in Pascal’s wager lives for God, they are really living for themselves. Pascal’s wager states you should believe in God because it will benefit you. Someone who believes in Pascal’s wager and lives a good life is only doing so to gain eternal life. Yet, you gain eternal life by living for God.
It is not enough to believe there are environmental problems in the world, you have to act on them. If someone knows that there are pollution problems but continually dumps waste into the river, they aren’t showing that they know there is a pollution problem. They have to make an effort to help fix the problem, just knowing a problem exists isn’t enough.
After reading James 2:14-26, the answers to my questions are the same. This Bible passage agrees with the responses I have posted to these questions. Faith without deeds is dead.
Question #1
If you believe that God exists it does not garantee you a spot in Heaven. Just a belief in Him does not save you. It may help, but what saves you and actually brings eternal life with God is hard work through prayer, devotion and love.
Look at Lucifer, the devil, for example. He believes in God’s existence but he is destined for Hell. Heck, he runs Hell. He became destined for Hell because he became to big headed and believed that he was just as good as, if not better than, God.
I do not think that a person that completely uses Pascal’s Wager can live for God. That person is basically just believing that because he/she belives in God they are good on the path to Heaven. This is just not right. It takes more to end at that destination. A person that thinks they only need to believe to go to Heaven may be in trouble, because the Church teaches more.
The same is with science and enviromental issues. Believing is not enough. Just believing is not going to fix the problem. It takes action, hard work, devotion, and prayer would not hurt this issue either. I do not no how hard I have to stress that believing and sitting a side watching the world is not enough to fix the problems. They will not fix themselves.
After reading James 2:14-26….
All of my responses stay exactly the same. I believe they completely compared with the scripture. Faith is all and good, but with out hard works to back it up, it is not close to enough.
My answer to the first question is that you definitely can believe in God and not end up in heaven. Many people have lived horrible lives while still believing in God. There are many catholics, for example, who support abortion as they vote for democrats. They believe in God because they are Catholic, but by supporting abortion they may not make it to heaven.
My answer to the second question is that belief in God’s existence is not enough. Just believing in God is not enough to get you eternal life. You have to obey all of God’s laws and live a Christ-like life in order to get to heaven. Also, you must be an example for others on how to live a good life following the 10 commandments in order to reach heaven. Believing in him helps, but it is not all you need to reach eternal life.
I don’t think I can decide who is destined for hell, but I would think that our leaders in government who claim to believe in God but support abortion have the best chance of going to hell. Hopefully, she will repent, but right now Nancy Pelosi is an abortion supporter who is trying to pass pro-abortion acts from her government position. I am no person to judge who is worthy of hell, but I would think she has a better chance than most if she keeps saying that she believes in God but also keeps supporting abortion.
If you believe that God exists, you are on your way to gaining eternal life. However, like I said, you still need to do good works and act like a child of God in your life in order to gain eternal life.
Someone who believes in God because of Pascal’s Wager cannot truly live for God in my opinion. If you believe in God only because it gives you a better chance of being happy, you are not going to be living for him. You have to realize that you need to act good and strive for eternal life in order to live for God. People who go on Pascal’s Wager think that believing in God will get them to heaven, but this is not the case. They will not truly believe in him and strive for paradise, so they will not live for him near as well as someone who is striving for eternal life.
Now, if someone believes there are environmental issues, that is not enough. If they believe in those issues, they need to do something about them. Just like believing in God, just believing in environmental issues is not enough to gain what you want to achieve. You have to work for God in order to obtain eternal life, just like you have to work in order to fix environmental issues.
Now that I have read James 2:14-26, I feel like my answer is exactly the answer that James would give. He beats down those who believe in God but do not show their faith in their works. This is exactly how I feel. Also, I feel like James would agree that those who know about environmental issues and believe in them need to work to fix them. All in all, I would keep my answers the same.
1. you can according to paschals wager but according to the catholic faith not really
2 it is enoug to save you but you might not get to go to heaven right away
3yes saitin believs in god but own hell and that is why he is destined for it
4 no
5 no because they have to believe in serving god as well inorder to be with him
6 no because there needs to be proof inorder to get people to side with you
bible thing
my opinion still stayed the same because i know that it takes more that believing in god to get to heaven you have to do good on earth as well
You can believe in God and not end up in heaven. If you act contrary to God’s will, then you will not end up in heaven with him.
You can believe in God and that won’t be enough to save you. You have to act on your beliefs and do what is right.
Anyone who acts against God’s will repeatedly is destined for Hell, even though they may believe in God.
Just believing that God exists is not enough to spending eternity with him. You will be close but never fully there.
If someone uses Pascal’s Wager to live for God, then it is possible to truly live for him, as long as they act on what they believe.
You need proof in order for an environmental problem to be true. I can say that the sun is going to burn out tomorrow but it won’t be true unless I can prove it.
After reading the Bible passage, I feel as though I answered them similar to what the Bible had to say. I always remember being told that faith alone will not get you into heaven, but you need to act out your faith. I guess i really did learn something after spending my whole school career in Catholic schools.
Question 1
Yes, it is possible for someone to God exists and then not end up living with him. The reason for this is believing in God is not good enough you need to live a virtuous life fulfilling God’s requirements for the afterlife.
No, it is not enough for belief in God to save you. For example if I believe in Global Warming that does not mean it stops it from happening I have to work for it, just like for God.
Yes, there are people in this world alive now that believe in God that are destined for Hell. Those people are the people that do not live virtuous lives for God. An example could be a murder that does not ask for forgiveness form his or her sins.
No, if you use Pascal’s Wager as your reasoning for proof of God’s existence you cannot live for God because you did not use your heart to find the answer you used your intellect, and to live for God you must live for him with your heart.
No, as I addressed in my second paragraph it is not enough. If I believe that Global Warming exists that does not fix it in fact it does nothing. The only way to fix it is to work to fix it, just like we have to work for Heaven.
The scripture verse (James 2: 14-26)did not change my opinions because what was being taught agreed with my opinions.
Yes, even if you beleive in God and you live your life terribly without caring to get forgiven you could end up in Hell. I think a murderer would doesn’t care about being forgiven but still beleives in God should go to Hell. Yes even if you beleive in Paschals wager you still beleive in a beleif about God so I think that you could still be saved. You need to beleive but you also need to work to change the environmental issues. No my opinons didn’t change because i firmly beleive what I beleive.
Yes I think that you can believe in God and still not go to Heaven if you are believing in him just so that you can go to heaven, which isn’t for the right reason anyways. I do not think that just believing in God’s existance is enough to save any person, because once again, if you are just believing in him so that you will be saved, then it isn’t right, you should not only believe in him but show you believe by the way you live your life. I cannot think of anyone who believes in God but is destined for hell. If you believe in God’s existance, just believing will not get you to
comment continued..: will not get you to eternal life, you should show that you truely believe or not. If someone uses Paschal’s Wager for the existence they may or may not be truly living for God. They may either believe in him for he right reasons or simply just because they think they will go to heaven if they believe. If soemone belives in environmental issues, there should be proof that it is actually there, their belief is not enough. After reading the bible verses, my opinion did not change because you have to show action with your belief or it doesn’t do you any good.
question #2
1.40L
Question 1:
Yes, you can believe in God and not go to Heaven. We are called to live holy lives and act as Jesus did, doing good deeds. If we live a life of sin and no repentance, we won’t make it to Heaven.
Belief that God exists is not enough. Good deeds accompany believing in and loving God.
Yes I can. Celebrities in general are pretty much destined to hell. Although they believe in God, they aren’t living a life that God would want them to. They are selfish and often mistreat their bodies, which are gifts from God.
No just using Pascal’s Wager would not live for God because the Wager doesn’t take into account the number of other religions that have essientially the same beliefs as we do, but with just slightly different changes.
Believing in environmental issues is not enough unless the person takes action upon these issues. If they believe they exist, they have to work their hardest to fix the environment and make it safe for everyone to live in.
My opinions remained the same. Reason for this is just what i said. Scripture even tells us that faith is nothing without works. Good works are essential for a strong faith in God. God loves those who act as he would, which means works are neccessary to live a holy life.
Question 1
Yes, I can believe God exists and not end up living in Heaven with him, because it is my hope and dream to end up in Heaven. I work to live that life God wants me to live, but I am not perfect and I do thinks that lead me away from Heaven. I believe that God exists, but I still have the chance not to go to Heaven, but by believing in him I have the chance to go.
No, belief in God’s existence is not enough to save a person, because we have to live how God wants us to live. Just the belief alone is not enough; we have to live a good life and work to be saved. When a person sins they are forgiven when they are truly sorry, and God saves the true believers.
Yes, I can think of people who believe in God, but are destined for Hell. These people only believe God exists, but live their lives with sin. They are destined for Hell, because they do not live their life how God has taught us. The people who are destined for Hell are most likely the people who think just the belief in God’s existence is enough to go to Heaven.
If I believe God exists then depending on how I live will determine if I am destined for Eternal life living with God. I am not guaranteed an Eternal life by God, and if I do not live my life with good morals, and follow what God has taught me, then I will not have Eternal life.
No, I think that someone who uses the Pascal Wager for the existence of God cannot truly live for God. The people who believe in the Pascal Wager only believe, because they want something from it. They do not actually understand how God wants people to live, and why. The Pascal Wager is a way that a person can answer the question why they believe in God.
If someone believes that there are environmental issues then this can be enough, but it might not convince other people. A person who believes it exists does not have the proof, so there is a high chance that it does not exist, because if a person does not exist someone cannot believe they exist to make them exist. A person who believes in the environmental issue, has a start but must find proof, so they can prove their point and make a change.
After reading James 2:14-26, I still agree with my answers. My opinion has not changed because to believe means that practices needs to be taken place. Also the Bible said that proof needs to come so that people believe. In the Catholic faith there is scripture, which is the proof of God’s existence. For environmental issues, research and facts need to be done, and after that then the issue can be proved, because people believe based on proof.
Question 1
I think that you can believe in God and not end up in heaven. At the end of time when Judgment day comes, God is going to either send us to heaven, hell, or purgatory. Therefore, you may not end up with God in heaven. You may end up in purgatory or hell where there isn’t God.
Belief in God’s existence to me isn’t just going to save you. You have to be willing to act like God and do good deeds in the world. You have to work to become a better Christian and follow God’s rules, not just believing in Him.
I can’t think of anybody who is destined for hell. You don’t know if someone is until God comes to Judge us. God is willing to forgive our sins. Just because you do a bad act doesn’t mean you go start to hell. You still have a chance to redeem yourself and become a better person.
If you believe God exists, you do have a chance with God. Believing in God shows that you trust him and your willing to follow him. In the end God will call your name and ask you to be with him.
I do think someone can use Pascal’s Wager because he shows that there are chances to have a good ending and gaining something in return. Believing in God will get you somewhere. Pascal shows that there is hope in the end if you believe and there is a God.
It is not enough if someone believes there are environmental issues. They have to be willing to take action and do something about it. Not just believing in it. Believing in it will get you nowhere, so first you have to believe, but then you have to actually try to do something about it and make the world a better place.
My opinions on James 2:14 – 26, are still the same. They are what I think is true. If you believe, then you have to be willing to take action and do something about it. You have to give profit and do what you’re saying you are. If you say to a poor person, be warm and eat well. Then you have to actually help them in some way for your statement to be true. You can’t just say it hoping they will get that on their own.
Question 1
Yes you can believe in God and not end up going to heaven because you might have faith in God but not do the right things in life. You could kill yourself or others and go to hell even though you still believe in God.
No I don’t think belief in God’s existence is enough to save you because you could believe in him but not do good work on earth. You have to do what God tells you to do and help the poor and be like Jesus. If you don’t do that, then your faith is not enough to save you from going to hell.
Someone who believes in God and is destined to hell is a person like Hitler. If someone believes in God but goes through their lives killing tons of people and doing bad things like Hitler, then they are destined to go to hell. They do not act like God wanted them to act.
If you believe that God exists, you are not always destined for eternal life because in able to go to heaven you have to do what God tells you and be like Christ, helping others.
A person cannot truly live for God if they use Pascal’s Wager because you have to full heartedly believe in God on your own will and actually want to believe in him. You have to do what God says and love him with all your heart. That person has to give their life to God.
No its not enough because just believing that an environmental issue is there doesn’t mean it is. Global warming would not actually be real and by believing in it doesn’t mean it is real.
*God is not the same as an environmental issue. They are different.
No, my opinions on the pervious questions do not change because in able to believe in God you have to actually show it and be like God in order to be saved and to truly have faith in God.
Yes you can believe in God and not be with him in Heaven. If you believe in him but you sin and do not ask for forgiveness you will go to hell.
No not just believing in God will save you some people think that but have to live a holy and virtuous life to go to Heaven. I cannot think of anyone.
You are destined for eternal life but you have to live a good life to get there.
Someone using Pascal’s Wager is not truly living for God they are only living a good life because odds are better to live a holy life and go to Heaven.
If someone believes you have environmental issues I don’t think that is enough I think you have to prove that there is one.
All of my answers still stay the same because it talks about how faith with no deeds is pointless and will not get you to Heaven. Also that only deed and no faith will not get you into Heaven you need to have both.
I think God has a plan for everyone. Whether it’s going to heaven or hell, I don’t think believing in him will change whether you go to heaven. If you live your life to the fullest and love God, then I believe that you will go to heaven.
I think many people believe when they do something wrong or regret something badly, they automatically think they are going to hell. The truth is that none of us know where we are going after we die. I don’t really know anyone in particular think they are DESTINED for hell. That’s a little extreme. Many people do make mistakes that could lead them to think they are though.
I think that since I believe in God, I have as good of chance as anyone to have eternal life. It depends on the decisions I make and howclose I stay with God. Pascal’s Wager relates to this also. People who believe Pascal’s wager should have eternal life as well just like everyone else.
If someone believes there are environmental issues, it isn’t enough to say there are issues. In order to change your future and others as well, you have to make it your destiny so it will continue, just like eternal life.
My opinion after reading James 2:14-26 stayed the same. They stayed the same because the Bible verse explained mainly what I stated as the answer to the questions.
Question #1:
I personally do not believe that a person can just believe in God and then expect to end up in Heaven just like that. It takes more than just believing in him. You have to live a good life and follow Jesus’ example. So, I do not believe that just belief in God alone is enough to save you. You have to be a good person, and live the way God wants us to live.
I do believe that a person could believe in God and still end up in hell. I don’t know anyone like this personally, but I would say any murderer or someone who commits a crime that serious could go to hell. They could believe in God, but belief enough cannot save you. Take Hitler for example. He could have believed in God, but he still lived a bad life.
If you believed in God, you could be destined for eternal life, but that all depends on how you lived your life on earth. If you lived a good life, followed God and the Bible, and helped others then I believe that that you would go to heaven.
I don’t think that someone who just uses Pascal’s wager can live for God. If they just believe in him, they are not really living for him. If they use this wager, and also live the way God would want us to, then I would say that they are living for God.
Along these same lines, it is not enough for someone to just believe that there are environmental issues. Just acknowledging the fact doesn’t change anything. We must take action to protect the environment and the earth.
After reading James 2:14-26, I still agree with my earlier statements. It basically says that faith without action is dead.
Do we have to do the car brochure?
Can we do this experiment?…

I agree with Charlotte because she also believes that a belief in God is not necessarily the ticket to heaven. Like her, I think that it is what you do on earth that matters. If you believe in God but live a bad life on earth, youare probably not going straight to heaven. I also chose hitler to use as an example of a believer in God who most likely did not end upin heaven because of the awful things he did on earth. My opinions also went along witht the Bible passage. Nice job Charlotte!
I agree with Ryan Evans. He says that believing in God is not enough to save you. People who believe in God still do bad things. You have to be a good person to go to heaven. He also says that believing in environmental issues is not enough. You can’t just believe. You have to do something about it.
I have to disagree with what Colleen says. Colleen states that
…”They are destined for Hell, because they do not live their life how God has taught us…”
I disagree with this because to me, it sounds like everyone who sins and doesn’t live holy, is going to Hell no matter what. Yes it is bad to sin and do things wrong, but God will forgive us. I beleive that we need to do something morally wrong that will cut off all ties with him that with make him not want to forgive us.
I agree with Gary’s response. He had the same ideas I did with you have to prove yourself here on Earth with the good deeds performed in order to get to Heaven. He also chose Hitler in someone who believed in God, but was destined for Hell. I liked the connection he made at the end about going to a movie that you have to pay for a ticket in order to see it.
I agree with Kimberly’s twin on this question because we both agree that faith alone is not enough to get into heaven. She and I agree that having faith and believing in God is not enough because your actions define you and your life. She also used Hitler as her example of a God-believer who was destined for Hell (like me). Overall, we both believe that belief in any topic is not enough, you have to take action.
I agree with all of Tiffany’s responses for question one. She says that belief in God is not enough to get to Heaven, which I agree with. She also uses a great example:the Devil believes in God, but he does not go to Heaven. She also says that good deeds are what get you to Heaven, and I agree with this too. Our answers were very similar.
For the second part of question 1, i agree with Raeanna but disagree with Taylor. Raeanna says that everyone goes to purgatory after they die. You don’t just automatically go to hell. I agree with what Raeanna says because God will judge you on that day and you dont just go to hell for that one reason. I disagree with Taylor becuase she says that she thinks Hitler will automatically go to hell. First of all, she doesn’t know if Hitler went to heaven or hell, she doesn’t have the power to tell that. Second, everyone has the chance to reedeam themselves. If she sinned and God forgave her, then she could go to heaven. It is the same for Hitler. Taylor has no power to tell if Hitler was sorry for what he did and truely knows its wrong. Taylor will just have to see if Hitler went to heaven or hell, but she can’t assume for what he did.
I agree with Raeanna. We had a lot of the same opinions, but Raeanna made a good point. She sad that everyone goes to Purgatory after they die and no one is automatically damned to hell. I like this idea.
I agree with Tiffany, because a person must be good, and do good deeds to go to Heaven. Also, a person believing in Pascal’s Wager only believes because they hope to gain something from it. I also, agree that believing in environmental issues is not enough, because those people need to do something about their beliefs. Tiffany also agrees with the Bible, and says that belief alone will not get you to Heaven; work also needs to be included.
I agree with Larry because we both think you can go to hell if you believe in God. We also believe that just believing in God is not enough to get you into heaven. I also agree with him when he says people who say they believe in God and are pro abortion then they have a good chance of going to hell.
I totally agree with Tiffany Amo because she simply says believing in God won’t get you to heaven. Along with that are good works.
I agree with Tom because he had many of the same views that I had. He said that the bible verse did not change his view also.
I agree and disagree with some of Erik’s points. It is true that we both think that faith not only requires believing, but also it involves acts of kindness and living how God wants us to live. Also, that using the Pascal’s Wager is not truly living for God. I disagree with the statement he makes about if you don’t ask for forgiveness then you will go to hell; I think it depends on what sin you committed.
I agree with Kimberly Eisenbarth’s statement about being destined for hell. Only God can truly judge people and decide if they go to hell or not. There is also the possibility they could change so its never destined.
I agree with Becca on many of these issues. We had many of the same ideas. For example, we both agreed that people that use Pascal’s Wager to prove God’s existence really aren’t living for God. And we even used the same quote!
I agree with Andy because according to James 2:14-26 even if you just believe in God it is not enough to get you into heaven
I have to agree with Pam on this one. She says that if we just believe in God it is not enough to get us to heaven. This is totally true and completely goes along with what I said. She even threw in the line that you can’t just “talk the talk, you have to walk the walk.” I think that fits perfectly with this question. Not only does Pam keep food from sticking to pans, but she also gives a good blog answer.
I agree with Ryan because we both beleive that just beleiving is not enough, you have to take action if you want something to happen.
I agree with Ryan because he makes a good point saying that you have to do something in order to get into heaven. Also i really like..
3. I don’t think anyone is destined for Hell. It’s never too late to have a conversion if you really mean it and are trying to better yourself.
.. because anyone can change in order to get into heaven.
