Happy Holidays!

7th Grade Health: Students will be focusing on Nutrition this week…. just in time for the Holidays and all that good food!  Food labels, play a board game, visit the computer lab, view videos on Brainpop, and take notes on a Keynote presentation.

5th Grade Health: Students will be focusing on Nutrition this week……They will learn the 6 main nutrients, sort foods into the food groups, view a keynote presentation, and make the findings that there is no more Food Pyramid.  Now there is a MyPlate symbol for eating healthy.

Computers: Students will be finishing their American Gothic remake.  Other classes will be focusing on a Winter themed story and remaking a page in it from Pixie.

PE: Students will play two holiday games and continue to practice their jump rope skills.

Art: Students will create a reindeer card with their fingerprints and add details of horns and a red nose.

Let it SNOW, SNOW, SNOW!!!

7th Grade Health: Students will be learning how to be assertive, how to stand up for themselves, and when to reach out to adults for help.  By the end of the week we will have finished the first unit o Social and Emotional Health.

5th Grade Health: Students will practice the A.C.T. steps to dealing with strong feelings, do two lessons on Bullying, and practice speaking assertively for what they want or need.  We will also assess our strengths and weaknesses and discuss the steps to setting goal to achieve what you want.

PE Students will be playing two games from PE Central: Beat the Grinch and Jingle Shapes.  We also continue to practice our rope jumping skills.

Computers:
4th Grade: Students are putting the finishing touches on their American Gothic Modification project.  I cannot wait to see what the creative minds of Beechnau come up with.  We hope to have these on display in the school after Winter Break.
3rd Grade: Students will discuss Digital Citizenship.  This includes what information should and should not be given out over the internet, how technology has changed at school and at home, and we will take an Internet Safety quiz from the blog.
2nd  Grade: Students will continue to practice navigating the internet and this blog.
1st Grade: Students will explain how technology can be used to solve problems.  They will create a page in Pixie using Stickers from the Technology folder and recording their voice to answer the question.
K-Students will continue to practice logging in and create a shape Santa and save it.

1st Grade Art: Students will create a project based on the snowman theme.  Check out the link to see what we are going to create:

7th Grade Health: A new session of 12 weeks of Health starts this week.  We will focus on classroom expectations, rules, and jobs.  We also will play a game of compliment tag, write a compliment to a classmate, make a personal business card, and being our first unit: Who We Are and Who We Want to Become.

5th Grade Health:  A new session of 12 weeks of Health starts this week.  We will focus on classroom expectations, rules, and jobs.  We also will play a game of compliment tag, write a compliment to a classmate, make a personal business card, and being our first unit: Social and Emotional Health.  We will discuss feelings and work on a Photobooth Project to support these lessons.

Computers:
4th Grade students are working on digitally altering American Gothic.
3rd Graders are researching online the best price for an i pod touch.
2nd Graders are bookmarking this blog and practicing using the internet on the pages sites.
1st Graders are using Pixie to refine their “click and drag” skills and making a christmas tree page.
K-Students continue to log in and practice in Pixie.
