The articles felt appropriate and similar to Communication 101 for blogging. I can see where people would feel comfortable being rude. Not unlike the comfort people feel when they are driving. Staying on topic was a point I could see necessary for me. The other point I took note of was the sarcastic note. I even erased a sentence after I realized how sarcastic it was.
Posting comments was fun because I enjoyed reading other people’s blogs. My position is a little different, so there was a lot to learn from their experiences. Because others are ahead of me I was confused when I read my first comments. Each step is a mystery for me.
Commenting is important for validation much like in basic communication. Sometimes my husband doesn’t comment and it drives me crazy. I can’t tell if he heard me or not, nor can I tell if we are on the same page or in a different book all together. Again, blogging seems like basic Comm. 101.
As a counselor, I can see the blogging being a great place for kids and parents to pose questions that I have not thought of. i.e. Before the Adventure race for Endurance Adventure, I feel many of the same questions.
I am not apart of any online learning communities. The question alone taught me that there is such a thing. When I search around for a counseling one, I just read stories about kids’ hardships. I need to dig around more. I need ideas for kids. I know many are hurting.

I can see that posting comments would be fun for you. You wouldn’t be a counselor if you didn’t like to talk.
Sometimes online communicating adds a whole new layer of complexity to things. We can pick up visual and auditory cues when we communicate face to face but it becomes a little more challenging when we don’t have those to help us.
